Tompkins Square Park is basically next door, which is great for walks or meeting up with friends. You’re about five minutes from the 1 Av stop on the L train, and it’s a quick walk to Astor Pl for the 6 if you need to get uptown. There are plenty of local spots for groceries and food. The room is furnished, and there’s one bathroom. Laundry in the building is a big help, no trips to the laundromat. The East Village has everything you need, and having the park right there is a real plus.
