SNAG COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Version 1.0 · Last updated October 5, 2026

These Community Guidelines describe how we expect everyone on Snag to behave. They are incorporated into, and enforced under, the Snag Terms of Use. Violations can lead to content removal, Listing removal, and account suspension or termination. Snag’s operations team may update these Guidelines from time to time to address new situations. Material changes will be announced through the Platform. If these Guidelines conflict with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use control.

1. RESPECT AND FAIR TREATMENT

Treat other users with respect. Harassment, threats, hate speech, and abusive behavior are prohibited. Discrimination is prohibited. Listers must comply with all fair housing and human rights laws and may not decline, discourage, or treat applicants differently because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, familial status, age, disability, immigration or citizenship status, lawful source of income (including vouchers), lawful occupation, or any other characteristic protected by law.

2. HONEST LISTINGS AND PROFILES

List only real places you actually have the right to sublet, with accurate photos, pricing, availability, roommate information, and house rules. Keep your calendar current. Use your real identity. Misrepresentation of a listing, a profile, or your authority to sublet is grounds for immediate removal. Show the full price of the stay on Snag, and do not charge a renter you met on Snag any amount outside Snag or any fee that was not shown in the Listing. Content you post on Snag, including photos, descriptions, profiles, and messages, must not be discriminatory, obscene, harassing, deceptive, violent, or illegal.

3. BOOKING INTEGRITY

Honor your bookings. A confirmed booking is a commitment on both sides. Renters are expected to pay on schedule, and listers are expected to deliver the space as listed, on time. Cancellations carry the consequences described in the Fees, Payments, and Cancellation Policy. Keep your transaction on Snag. Soliciting or accepting off-platform payment for a booking that started on Snag violates the Terms of Use, removes both sides from Snag’s payment protections and dispute process, and is grounds for account termination. Listers must give renters working access (keys, codes, and entry instructions) at least 24 hours before move-in and must make sure the renter can enter on move-in day. Do not offer, lease, or promise the same space to more than one person for overlapping dates, on or off Snag, and do not let anyone else occupy a space that is booked. If a lister fails to provide access or to make a booked space available, the renter is refunded, and the lister can lose the payout, be charged fees and the renter’s substitute lodging costs, and have the Listing removed or the account terminated, as described in the Terms of Use and the Fees, Payments, and Cancellation Policy.

4. RESPONSIVENESS

Respond promptly. Renters and listers should respond to messages, booking requests, and approval requests as quickly as they can, and ideally within 24 hours. A request to book expires if the lister does not respond within the time stated in the Fees, Payments, and Cancellation Policy. Repeated failure to respond to other users or to Snag may lead to restriction or termination of your account.

5. LAWFUL OCCUPANCY

Only offer stays that are lawful. That includes complying with your own lease and building rules, local registration and zoning rules, and occupancy laws, including limits on the number of unrelated occupants of a unit and prohibitions on carving a unit into separately locked rooms for separate households. When listing a private room, the renter must have genuine access to the unit’s kitchen, bathroom, and common areas.

6. SAFETY

Do not use Snag to endanger anyone. Weapons, violence, sexual misconduct, recording devices in private spaces, and unsafe or uninhabitable conditions are prohibited. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local authorities first, then report the situation to us.

7. REPORTING AND ENFORCEMENT

Report suspected violations through the app or to hi@joinsnag.com. Snag reviews reports and may warn, restrict, suspend, or remove users and content, and may withhold platform privileges, as described in the Terms of Use. We consider severity, pattern, and honesty in responding to our review. Circumventing enforcement (for example, by opening a new account after suspension) is itself a violation.
